    • Jaguar builds a pointless 592 horsepower limited edition XE for $190k+ - XE SV Project 8

Well here is something nobody asked for yet Jaguar is doing anyway. This is the limited edition (300 units) Jaguar XE SV Project 8. Jaguar took their XE, added in a hotter 592 horsepower version of their supercharged 5.0 liter V8, tweaked the aerodynamics/suspension, and gave it a huge price tag.

Who the hell is buying this? You can get a track package option to remove the rear seats and add carbon fiber buckets up front but why not just get a cheaper two-seat track car to begin with?

592 horsepower may sound like a lot but it really isn't. Basically any of the German twin turbo V8's will make more power and torque (with plenty more available with just a tune) and you could easily outperform this car for a fraction of the cost with a BMW M3.

If you have money to burn and just absolutely have to have the highest performance four-door Jaguar in production, call your dealer. Then maybe your psychiatrist afterwards...

You don't have to buy one... So, why not? It's cool it's a thing and available for those who like it. I think you'd be surprised by the amount of Jaguar fanatics you'll find domestically and overseas, as well.

I don't know how one justifies the cost for the performance and what it is. It's like a $200k 3-Series.

Jaguar is a business trying to turn a profit. If someone will pay it then it is justified.

Where did you get the pricing info?

Have not seen any US pricing. I see £149,995 in the UK, so about 10k over a M4 GTS.

Direct conversion of currency doesn't always work but let's say it is $10k over a GTS. Is that really a good thing?

Well compared to the GTS, the pricing isn't outrageous. But on the other hand I consider the M4 GTS to be overpriced.

Exactly this is a much better car for the money than the $#@!ing GTS. At least this thing has a V8 and not just water injection haha.

I don't think anyone is saying this is better than a GTS but that they are both overpriced and underwhelming.
