    You may have noticed Hydra Motor Works marketing at the expense of others online. It recently started with some shots lobbed at Cobb Tuning. Now their customer @cosmo is running around the forums claiming BoostAddict.com is trying to steal their software and bricking ECU's. This is absurd to anyone who reads this forum as they know I am not a tuner. Gintani tuned my originally on methanol and 91 octane with upgraded turbos (the first in the world to do so) over eight months ago. Since then I have done too many WOT pulls to count, 1/4 mile runs, and 60-130 pulls and the car runs like a champ. It is the most powerful 991.2 3.0 in the world making 540 whp on a Mustang dyno until someone proves otherwise. That is on the stock intercoolers, stock headers, and 91 octane pump fuel by the way. The only issue is a CEL due to no cats (which is normal with modern ECU's) and a TPMS fault as I am not running the factory rims with TPMS sensors but aftermarket 19 inch drag radials. Anyone is free to call up Gintani and verify this information. Anyone is free to look at the video and see the car pulls like a freight train on Gintani's tune. It is hardly sitting anywhere with a 'bricked ECU' waiting to rip off Hydra's software that is far behind anyway with development on this hardware. Anyone is free to visit VF-Engineering and test drive the car next month after it gets Tial Sport intercoolers, inlets, headers, and a dyno tune revision. BoostAddict.com works diligently developing and testing hardware and software to go with it for the 991.2 3.0 platform doing so since 2017. BoostAddict.com has more miles on a turbo upgraded 991.2 3.0 than anyone else in the world. BoostAddict.com will not stand for this defamation and will forward all correspondence to its legal team. What Hydra's customer posted is flat out libel: It is amazing a grown man would take it upon himself to try to damage someone's business online with lies and insults. If the defamatory remarks are not publicly retracted we will proceed with defamation proceedings.

    Pure Turbos has an upgrade for almost every stock housing these days. Add the Kia Stinger 3.3 liter twin turbo V6 to that list. Pure upgrades the factory housings with their own billet spec compressor and turbine wheels. What kind of power? How much money? Tuning is about to be completed with more details coming shortly.

    Here is something we have been working on for a while, and it has been running in our shop car for about a year in various stages. We have slowly added more features, and taken more control away from the factory DME with great success. (The earlier anti-lag video we posted was NOT using this for control, at that point we still have MHD doing everything.) Currently, our car is running Sequential PI, full boost control using the factory solenoids, anti-lag with adjustable launch boost, boost by gear, LPFP activation based on boost, and a few other small things such as oil pressure, etc. We could not be more happy with not only the ECU but the support we have received from Adaptronic through this entire process. the ECU is extremely easy to set up, fits in the DME box with no problem, the software is very user-friendly, and having on the fly adjustment, as well as not needing to have the key on the make changes is something you never really miss until you have it. I would never want to go back. Availability is Q2 2019, but we can prob get some done for people earlier if needed. The ECU's are ready, we just need to make the harnesses, and we are slammed currently. Email us Sales@vargasturbo.com for direct assistance. This was the last graph taken with the setup. The car is getting a few more upgrades now and will be back on the road for some winter racing in the next month or so. VTT / Adaptronic M2000 N54 ECU upgrade A small list of available features: Full Sequential control of Port Injection with up to 8 injectors supported Multiple communication schemes available including Full wireless communication as well as standard USB COMPLETE ON THE FLY/LIVE Control of the ECU, no turning the car off to flash. While running simply modify any table/settings you chose, and watch it take effect in real time. ECU is USB powered even when the key is off for tuning changes without powering everything such as fuel pumps, etc. Full closed loop boost control with settings to allow DIRECT control of the factory solenoids No more boost target nannies Full Drive by wire capabilities.     What is going on with these magazine tests of the Ferrari 488 Pista? Either Ferrari stepped their game up to an entirely new level or something is fishy. The 488 Pista doesn't just set a new test record it obliterates the McLaren 720S by just over two seconds. You decide if you believe these numbers: Almost four seconds on the 991.2 GT2 RS? With numbers like this the Pista should be setting Nurburgring lap records with ease. Hopefully we see the 488 Pista in independent hands soon with owner cars actually being tested as the magazine testing results are shocking thus far to say the least.

    You obviously know the N54 block is an open deck design. Eventually and under great pressure, the cylinders can oval. Kotte-Performance claims this happens past 25 psi of boost but of course this depends on mileage, boost, torque, use, etc. Many BimmerBoost users routinely run past 25 psi on the factory block. That does not mean they will not eventually need to reinforce their cylinder block. Kotte-Performance uses pins to strengthen the cylinders: Is that as effective as a true CNC closed deck block conversion such as what @alex@ABRhouston offers? No. It is a cheap way to keep the cylinders from rounding that is often applied in the import world especially with Subaru motors. Can it work? Sure. Once again, it depends on the setup and use. Ultimately you will want to discuss with your engine builder what approach is best for your car and budget.

    The V8 R8 models never got the attention of their V10 big brothers. There are several reasons for that. First of all, the V8 just is not as capable. If you want big power, go for the V10. Furthermore, the V8 fuel system taps out much faster. EVOMS struggled with a twin turbo V8 build and who knows if it was ever finished. B-Rogue Built managed to complete this twin turbo R8 V8 and the gains over stock are nice. The baseline was in the low 300's so the increase is roughly 47% more power: That Dyno Dynamics is corrected but still this R8 is making a ton more horsepower than stock. Does it make more sense to turbocharge a V8 R8 than get the V10? Not really. It still is cool to see it done of course.
